basketball wrap-up

This past Saturday was Presley's (and Chad's) final Upwards basketball game.  She has had such a great experience this year.  I'm amazed at how much she has learned about the game of basketball while also learning the fundamentals and having fun the whole time!!
These 2 were her loyal cheerleaders (although I think they were in it for the concession stand), always yelling for Presley and her teammates, The Dragons.

She loved running the ball up the court and was so good at dribbling...a lot of the kids just ran up the court forgetting to dribble.
First friend, Grace was on her team.
The cheerleaders, again.  This time with their lift partner, Ryne.  ; )
During half-time of the final game the coach from the other team pulled Chad aside and asked if there were any on our team who hadn't scored all season.  We had 3 on our team, so during his half-time speech Chad talked to the team about how we are a team and it doesn't matter who scores for the team so he encouraged the kids to try to pass the ball to those 3 kids.  And if they didn't have an open shot, Chad helped make sure they got open.  :)
Presley actually got to score twice like this...her first shot didn't go in.
And take a look at that smile after she finally scored!  Love it.
What a great season!

pre-school sing

Addy was invited to sing at the church she goes to pre-school at a few Sundays ago.  She was more than excited to "perform" for us.  She had seen Presley sing for the past 2 years...this was her year.  We were coming to watch her.
She did great, singing along to all the words and doing the motions!
She was super excited (couldn't stop jumping up and down) when she spotted Chad and I out in the audience.  ;)  So cute!!!

special visitor

We had a special visitor come to our house this week.  The tooth fairy paid her first visit to our house!
Presley has had a wiggly bottom tooth for a couple of weeks now and it finally wiggled its way out this week.  She was a bit nervous when she saw the blood and wasn't sure if she should cry or laugh, but once it was out, she was pretty happy.
We were actually at Daddy's basketball game and she wanted a sucker, and I told her she needed to work on her tooth for a bit before she could have her sucker. (It was basically hanging on by a thread and starting to turn a little gray.)  She pushed it back and it was basically just laying there, so with a little help from mommy it popped right out.
She wasn't sure she should put her tooth pillow under her pillow because she was afraid that the little tooth fairy would be too small to get it, so she came up with hanging it off her unicorn's horn above her pillow.  ; )  And it must have worked out just fine because when she woke up in the morning she found out her tooth was indeed gone and she had some new spending money instead!

fire-woman

Addy had her pre-school field trip to the fire station this week.  A.Hildy was nice enough to pick her up early and take her to lunch first.  Culver's was right up Addy's alley...ice cream?  You bet!
Addy had a great time and was super excited to tell me all about Little Red and his favorite number...911.

She loved trying on all the firemen equipment and has told me at least 10 times a day since her visit what to do if your clothes get on fire.  ; )  "Stop, drop, cover your face and roll."
Thanks A.Hildy for taking Addy.  She had a great time!!!

spirit week

We had a school spirit week a few weeks ago.  One of the days was twin day.  Presley and her friend Jaden planned to be twins - matching shirts, skinny jeans, brown boots...all the way down to matching flowers in their hair.

Apparently they even planned their same pose.
Another day was mis-match day.  Presley really had fun with this day.  She looked through her dresser and closet to find anything that would look silly.  Notice the different shoes?  That was her own touch.  : )
What a fun week!
