happy easter!

The Easter Bunny made a stop at our house this morning.
While the girls were going through their baskets, they spotted Mr. and Mrs. East Bunny in the yard and wondered if they were the ones who delivered the baskets.  ; )
This year the Easter Bunny went with a theme - p.j.'s, movies, and snacks.  Movie Night!  Addy got the movie, Despicable Me.  Reese got Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and Presley got How to Train Your Dragon.
After baskets were opened we spruced up for a few quick pictures before church.

So thankful the weather cooperated today.  It was a beautiful day.
This family picture is a bit blurry (tripod), but we only took one, so I'll take it.  : )  After church as a family we went over to Mawmaw and Pawpaw's for a great lunch, egg hunt and basket hunt.

And of course a few more pictures.

What a great day!  So thankful we have reason to celebrate today.  We have hope for life with Jesus forever.

opening day

The girls had their opening day at T-ball the this weekend.
We were so happy that both Presley and Addison are on the same team this year.  To say Addy was a bit excited would be a huge understatement.  She has been thrilled to finally be "in something".
She didn't care too much about actually playing ball but LOVED when anyone would cheer for her.
Reese was enjoying the perks of the concession stand.

 Presley is #6 this year.
 Coming home.

 Reese and her buddy, Ryne.
 Addy is #5.
 Posing.
Look at Addy looking up at Pres.

The perfect team!

egg hunt

Presley had an egg hunt at school the other day.
All of the kindergarten classes were outside together searching for eggs.  With almost 85 kiddos running around the playground searching for eggs it was a bit chaotic.  I had trouble finding Presley to get any pictures.
I caught up with her when she was checking her loot to make sure she got the right number of eggs.
A couple of the ladies I teach with.
The hunt ended with a visit from the Easter Bunny.
And of course the tasting of lots of candy!

field trip - Addy style

Addy had a field trip this week - bowling with her pre-school friends!

She had a great time and told me she had a super high score, "13"!
 A. Cindy was nice enough to go with her.  (And take these pictures for me!)
Addy came home with lots of fun stories and was so excited to tell us all about her field trip!

Good thing there were bumpers.  ; )

Thanks so much A. Cindy!!!

published author

We have a real published author in our house.
Presley's class has been working hard on author studies and illustrator studies.  And our final project was becoming a real author and a real illustrator by writing a story and drawing a picture to go with it.  We based our class story on Bill Martin, Jr.'s book Brown Bear, Brown Bear.  Each student chose an animal and then decided what they wanted to write about that animal.
And then they had to draw a picture that matched their story.

Don't you just love that pig?  : )    So proud.  The books got delivered this week and Presley has had to show everyone she sees AND read it each night before bed.

all-pro

Our school has started a new breakfast club to help promote the idea of the importance of dads in their kids lives this year.  They invite dads and their kids to school once a month for a breakfast before school.  While eating breakfast they listen to a different speaker (or group of speakers).  This past Thursday was the last one of the year and they presented each of the dads a picture frame with a photo of them and their child from an earlier breakfast.  I loved the picture and had to scan it so I could get a copy of my own.  Chad and Presley have enjoyed these special times together, and I'm so glad my girls have their very own, "All-Pro" Dad!

mini-vacay

After working on our kitchen at the beginning of the week (re-done countertops and cabinets) we decided to take the kids on a quick trip for their spring break.  Since we can't go to Wisconsin Dells at the end of the school year (snow day make-ups) like we were planning, we traded our days and went this past week.  The kids had lots of fun and we loved that it wasn't crowded at all.  Of course it would've been nice if it was warm enough for the outdoor waterpark and theme park to be open, but we stayed plenty busy.

The girls spent LOTS of time at the indoor waterpark.  Reese would go up and down this slide over and over and over...

Presley loved the bigger slide.

Our first night there we had to stop in for some pizza at MooseJaw.  Yum.
These 2 can be the best of friends....but they also are really good and pushing each other's buttons.
 Mommy and her girlies.
 My moosey.

The girls slept great, but were up bright and early waiting for the pools to open.  ; )
After a morning full of swimming we asked for suggestions on where to go for lunch from the front desk.  Buffalo Phil's was suggested and we were so happy we found this place.  So fun!
 Daddy and his ladies.
They had a train that brought our food and drinks to us and also played around with the kiddos to keep them entertained.  So much fun!

After lunch we hit up the outlets for a bit before taking Reese back for a nap.  While Reesey (and Daddy) were napping I took the girls to the indoor amusement park to play.
On our way back to check on Reese we happened to see her and Daddy were already up and at the indoor waterpark so we quickly went back to our room to change into our suits for some more water time.

Presley and Addison gave us a synchronized swimming performance....but the timing was a bit off.
Presley attempted the water net and made it safely across.
We finally convinced them to get out of the pool so we could grab a late dinner and do a little shopping.
After another great night of sleep we got up for a bit more swimming and gift store shopping before packing up the room.  Before leaving town we hit up the Cheese store to bring home some samples.

We crammed a lot of fun (and good food) into a few short days but are so thankful we were able to get away for a quick trip.
