b-ball time

Presley has started playing Upwards Basketball and has had her first 3 games already.  She is loving it.  Chad is her coach.  It's so much fun and I'm amazed at how much the kids have learned so far.
It's quite entertaining...especially the first game.
Presley is doing a good job of understanding when she needs to follow her "guy" on defense and when she is trying to get open on offense.
She's also quite a dribbler and loves bringing the ball up the court.
She still prefers to pass instead of shoot, but has tried scoring a couple of times.
Her first attempt....she really has to "psyche" her self up.

Daddy showing the kiddos how to get ready to defend.

"I'm open, I'm open!!!"
"I told you, I'M OPEN!"
"Now, let's see what I can do?"
"How about a lob pass inside?"

She's already had quite the crowd cheering her on...A.Hildy, Mawmaw & Pawpaw, Nana and Papa, A.Cindy and cousin Gabi have all come at least once to cheer her on.
Looking forward to the rest of the season.  GO DRAGONS!

snow much work

A couple of weeks ago we got pounded with snow.  Some even said "blizzard".  We were off school for a couple of days.  We put the girls to work one morning helping Daddy clear out sidewalks.
Reese did most of the work.  Look how great she did shoveling that sidewalk.

The girls attempted to get off the shoveled path, but didn't make it to far.  They were worn out trying to walk in the deep snow so they opted to just sit and rest.

game time

We have been talking about going to a Michigan State versus IU game for a couple of years and finally decided to go ahead and get tickets this year.  Chad and I dropped the girls off at his parents early Sunday morning and headed up to Lansing.  We met up with Hilary early Sunday afternoon to check out the campus and hit the bookstores as well as check in to our hotel before heading to the game.  When we got to the hotel we met up with my parents.
Our seats were definitely nose-bleed seats, but we had a GREAT time.
Chad, Hilary, Mom and Dad (notice all green except Chad?)
It was a really good game.  Overtime.  I was torn who to cheer for.  I actually said it's the best of both worlds for me.  I grew up a MSU fan but have become an IU fan by marriage.  So I was ok with either team winning.
MSU ended up winning by 1 in overtime.

We had a great time and look forward to another rematch next year!

lake get-away

Reese and baby Addison
We once again had a mid-winter get-away with lots of friends at the lake house.  This is the second year we have rented this house.  It's perfect for us.  I think we had 12 adults and 9 kids 5 and under.  It was so much fun!  This house is huge and is perfect to let the kids run around.

I know this picture is a bit blurry (I think the camera settings were off all weekend, but this is a picture of the kid table during dinner.)
The girls had so much fun running around, playing games, playing with their toys, coloring, playing hide-and-seek, dancing, singing, and watching movies with their friends.
Leah

Reese

Reese and Ryne always have so much fun together.
The piano was a big hit.

Group shot of all the kiddos - left to right - Leah, Kate, Presley, Reese, Addison, Grace, Ryne, Addison & Millie.

The kids weren't the only ones having a good time.  The adults had lots of laughs, played game, and of course ate lots of good food.  Already looking forward to going again next year making this an annual tradition.

Yogi Bear

We met A.Cindy and cousin Gabi at the movies to check out Yogi Bear in 3D.  The girls loved it and can't want to go back to Jellystone Park this summer.

snow much fun

Boy have we gotten our share of snow this winter.  One of the times when we got dumped on, we decided to take the girls sledding.  We were sure they would love it....we were wrong.
One trip down the hill was enough for Addy.  The verdict - too bumpy.
Reese and Presley gave it a few more times.
While Addy had fun making snow angels at the bottom of the hill.

I went down the hill a few times with the girls.
And even though it looks like Presley is scared, she was having a great time.
