Father's Day Weekend

We spend Father's Day every other year with both of our families.  This year it was my families turn.  Our tradition is to go camping for Father's Day.  This year we headed out camping again.  We wanted to check out a different campground this year.
Papa had fun with the girls teaching them how to fly a kite.
(Don't worry the power lines were not as close as they look in this picture.)
We camped on a lake that is connected to several different lakes through little canals.  The weather was perfect so we decided to rent a pontoon for the afternoon and go explore.
The kids had a blast on and off the boat.
Reilly and Addy.
They each took a turn driving the boat.
Captain Reesey.
Captain Add.
We packed some snacks so after our first anchor we had a few snacks while riding around looking for our next spot to drop anchor.

Aunt Hildy and Reese.
Addy took this picture of Reilly taking a picture of her.  Love.

Reese thought she was on a photo shoot on the back of the boat...

Nana and Reeser.
We had to get a picture of the cousins in all the matching/coordinating swim suits.  Total Coincidence.

There was lots of giggles, running around, and fun cousin time this weekend.
I am so thankful these girls have each other and hope they continue to be so close as they grow up.
Papa and his granddaughters.
All the daddies with their girls.
Happy Father's Day to Chad....the best daddy to our girls.  We are so blessed to have such a loving, hard-working, supportive dad/husband.
We had great food, great fun, great laughs, great warm sunny weather (without a drop of rain), with lots of good family time.
Happy Father's Day to Chad, my dad, and my father-in-law.  3 of the BEST Dad's I know!  I'm so blessed.

swim time

The 2 older girls have been busy with swimming lessons everyday this week.  They are both doing great and getting braver and braver in the water.  I'm amazed at how far they have come in just a couple of lessons.
After lessons we have been heading to Mawmaw's pool to practice even more.  It's been pretty hot this week so we stayed cool in the pool.  Presley can now jump off the diving board and swim all the way to the steps by herself with no floaties or help from us.
Reese isn't taking lessons this time, but she is pretty brave herself.  She loves jumping off the diving board and swimming like a big girl.  She thinks she's pretty big stuff going underwater.

We have been able to swim with friends and even cousins.
Addy still isn't quite as confident and doesn't want to jump without a floatie, but I'm sure it won't be long.

graduation

So we have been busy celebrating lots of graduations this spring.  First up Addy from pre-school, then Presley from kindergarten and this past weekend we celebrated our nephew Tyler's graduation from high school.
It was a super hot day and the commencement was outside so thankfully A.Hildy came to watch the girls and took them swimming so they didn't have to sit out and roast.

It's been so neat watching Tyler grow up and seeing the young man he is becoming.  My girls absolutely adore him and he's so good with each of them.  It's great having him as their cousin.
Chad's super excited to make road trips to go visit him at college.  Congrats Tyler!  We are so proud of you.

field day

The day before the last day of school Presley had her first field day.
Basically it was several inflatables a few old-school field day games and a Kona Ice Truck.
Presley and her friends had a blast.
The weather was sunny and warm, but not too hot.  Perfect.
She has made some really good friends this year.
Old-school sack race.

Water-sponge relay race.

Spoon balance.
This is one of Presley's really good friend, Ana.  She is going to Spain with her family for 7 weeks and Presley keeps talking about how much she is going to miss her.  Such a sweet girl (and family).  Her mom came in to my room once a week and taught the kiddos Spanish.  They loved it!
Our last station was the Kona Ice truck.  A perfect ending to a fun day!
After field day we had a whole-school picnic outside on the playground.  As we were walking back in to go to class we spotted our principal in the dunk tank.  Each kid got 2 chances to dunk Mr. V.  There were a couple of kids who hit the target...and there were a couple of kids who were close so they got to run up and hit the target with their hands.
They thought that was the BEST!
What a fun day!
