field trip

Reese is always hearing her big sisters talking about taking a "field trip" with their school friends.  She always asks if she can go.  Unfortunately she can't.  So this past weekend we decided to take a small "field trip" for her since we had a long weekend.  We woke up Sunday morning and took off for Chicago.  Plan A was to head to Shedd Aquarium.  The girls LOVE that place and it had been a little while since they had been last.  We love going to that place because teachers get in free.  All we have to do is pay for the girls.  Once we got there, we noticed the extra long lines just to get in.  Come to find out it was Illinois resident free day.  The lines were over an hour wait just to get in...and then it would've been so crowed inside, so needless to say we moved on to Plan B. 

Plan B (which we were planning on anyways) was a stop at the American Girl store.  We kept most of the day a surprise from the girls and didn't tell them until right before we got there, but I had packed their Bitty Babies for them.  And boy were they excited!

They each got to pick out something that they had been wishing for.  Reese and Addy both picked an outfit for their babies and Presley got a diaper bag with all the supplies.

We did have an unexpected mini-field trip to see Justin B.  : )  (Which may have been just as exciting to the girls as the American Girl store!)

Next we walked around downtown for a bit.  The girls loved seeing all the tall buildings. 

And last on our field trip was a trip over to see Trenton.  We enjoyed taking him out to dinner and spending a little time with him before coming back home.  It was good to see him, and I think he enjoyed seeing some family too.
