south haven

For the second part of our vacation up and down the coast of Michigan we headed to South Haven from Muskegon.
Most of our time was spent fishing.  It was the girls' favorite activity...probably because at this campground the fish basically jump at the chance to get on your hook.  Chad fashioned a "fishing rod" for each of the girls from a stick.  Tied the string around it and added a hook.  The girls put pieces of hot dog on and went to town.  EVERY SINGLE TIME they put the hook in the water, they were able to catch a fish.  They were literally chomping at the bait!
Most of the time the girls were catching blue gill that were on the smaller side.  One time when we went to throw the blue gill back in a bass attacked the blue gill.  That gave us the idea to use the blue gill the girls caught as bait to catch the bigger bass.  Boy was that fun! Who knew my girls would be so excited to go fishing!
When we weren't fishing we loved hanging out in the beach town.
Eating at our favorite ice cream shop.
Watching the boats come in the harbor.

LOVE this picture of Presley.  Ha!
Guess her fish wasn't acting appropriately.
 There, now all better!
We visited our favorite restaurant twice and it was well worth the 1 hour wait.  To pass time we walked along the boardwalk and stopped for a few pictures.

We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this night!

While not fishing or eating we spent a lot of time relaxing at the pool.
A perfect end to a perfect vacation!
