county fair

Not many things beat going to the country fair in the summertime.

We picked up A.Hildy and were on our way.
 Bumper boats and cars.
 Motorcycles.

 And slides.
After a few rides it was off to find the animals.
Love this baby cow!  Addy wondered if we could have a cow at our house so we could "take him for a walk".
I love walking through seeing the cute little piggies, but I had to breathe through my mouth.  Stin-ky!
 My 3 little piggies!
 Sheep.
And of course we had to find the horses for Addison.
 Reese loved them too.
A.Hildy and I couldn't get over how big some of the horses were up close.

 Next up - fair food.
Funnel Cake for the girls to split.
(See the new missing tooth on the bottom?)
Philly Steak sandwiches for the grown-ups.
Fried veggies and an elephant ear split between all of us.
Time for one more ride.  The 2 oldest girls picked the carousel.
And Reese ended on the bumper boats again...one of the rides she was big enough to go on by herself.

Family + Fun + Rides + No Crowds + Fair Foods + Cool Weather = Perfect Summer Night

Birthdays & Christmas

This past weekend we were back with the Bears celebrating "Christmas in July".
 Craft time was decorating ornaments.
Addy was finally brave enough to go down the BIG waterslides.
She was pretty proud of herself and so were we.
This was Presley's second weekend going down the slides.
We decided that since this was our last time camping with the Bears before Addy's birthday that we would celebrate a little early.  We made arrangements for the Bears to visit Addy at our campground on Saturday afternoon.
Yogi led us all in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday.
Of course there were lots of hugs.

And they even came bearing gifts.  A pillowcase for Addy to color.
And a pink mug along with a coupon for free mini-golf.
That evening we continued our tradition of exchanging presents.
Reese got a new Polly Pocket boat girl from Pawpaw.
Addy got some cute jewelry and a pony from A.Cindy.
And Presley got a cute headband and a necklace picked out by cousin Tyler.
Chad and I got some nice (and silly) gifts too.
Sunday morning we found Yogi and Boo Boo for a picture.
A few more trips down the waterslide and a stop at the pool and splash pad before we stopped at the Ranger Station for ice cream on our way out.

I guess I learned my lesson.... never ask 3 year old to pose for a "good-bye Yogi picture" on our way home when it is nap time.  Not gonna happen.
 There - that's better.
